Minecraft goes gold... but who gives a damn?

This week we saw the announcement that Minecraft after so many years in development has finally, finally being "released", but honestly who gives a damn?

Everyone should give a damn, since Minecraft is effing awesome. The game itself is a taught lesson to most AAA game developers that sometimes, games don't need extra shiny graphics, an intense background story, or generalist purpose, Minecraft just sidelines everything said before, and adds only one special thing which is fun. 

The objectives of the game differ from server to server as some are PVP others are Survival and so on, and adding it to the fun you can search for graphical mods, special add-ons and possible in the near future, server based modifications that increase the objects you can create (such as the now single player motorized zepplin).

The popularity of this game rose so fast that even in "Beta" they already have a 4,000,000+ player base and over 16,000,000 registered on the website (most of which even if they don't play the official, they would find a way to play it either in single player or online) which increases per hour significantly.

For those who don't really know Minecraft, the game focuses heavily on doing what human kind loves to do, ... no not that, but building and building and building. The more the development went, the more things you could accomplish, as instead of just building with an unlimited supply of blocks you can only build with the things you harvest and create, you need to eat in order to survive or defend yourself from either other players or just plain monsters. On the Minecraft website it definesthe game simply like this:

Thats not all though, in the last beta updates you can now explore a different world or if you want to stick with yours there is tons of dungeons or villages you can find, the options are almost limitless.

The game is to be released in the 19th of November according to official announcement and an iPhone and Android app was already released in New Zealand and shortly the rest of the world.
